Cisco’s Internet monitoring unit ThousandEyes on Monday unveiled a new artificial intelligence product it said will allow much faster prediction and diagnosis of Internet outages and outages.
The company said its new product, called Digital Experience Assurance, or DXA, would enable Cisco’s network technology customers to introduce the ability to automatically act on — rather than simply monitor — problems in the quality of their network.

But now, ThousandEyes is making a big, AI-focused change to its platform that aims to give its customer base even more visibility into network quality and stability.
Joe Vaccaro, vice president of ThousandEyes, said DXA will provide the ability “not only to solve issues before they start affecting my users, but to leverage vast data to actually start predicting and providing intelligence on what can happen across the infrastructure, proactively address it before it starts to significantly degrade overall digital experiences.”
“Providing the digital experience helps build on this evolutionary journey beyond metrics, beyond monitoring, to a platform that provides a closed system,” Vaccaro told CNBC in an exclusive interview ahead of Monday’s Cisco Live event in Las Vegas.
Among other features, DXA comes with the ability for businesses to connect, analyze, diagnose, predict, optimize and remediate with little or no manual intervention.
Cisco ThousandEyes says its platform is powered by over 650 billion daily measurements collected from around the world. The firm was committed to giving businesses visibility into their internal environments, including on-premises networks and cloud environments.
The product is based on Cisco ThousandEyes Event Detection technology, which the company says already reduces the time needed to detect an outage event to minutes and less staff, rather than hours and multiple engineers.
AI generated internet status reports
Vaccaro also teased the development of a new product at Cisco ThousandEyes that, once complete, would allow users to generate AI-generated scripts that show the status of the global ISP (Internet Service Provider), cloud public and edge service networks, or connecting an application. a network.
This is similar to what ThousandEyes currently offers for internet monitoring, but with AI doing the work automatically instead of humans.
“This is in development and should see the light of day here in the very near future,” Vaccaro told CNBC.
